Terms of service
Draft outline of the terms for using the decision API, its console, SDKs and command line tool.
This is a draft outline. The final text is pending counsel review and will be published before the API opens.
The final terms will cover the headings below. Where we already know a commitment, it is listed.

The service
- An API that answers typed questions about a state you send, with calibrated probabilities.
- The console, the SDKs, the command line tool and the documentation.
- Processing takes place in the EU, as described in Data handling and residency.
Accounts and API keys
- An account has one owner.
- You keep your API keys secret and revoke a key you think has leaked.
- We store only a hash of each key and show the full key once.
Prepaid balance and payment
- Usage is paid from a prepaid balance in euros. Top-ups go through Stripe.
- Prices are per million input tokens and exclude VAT. Output is free.
- Balances do not expire. Unused balance is refunded on request when an account closes.
- Charges for requests that fail with a server error are refunded automatically.
Prices and changes to prices
- How we announce price changes and when they take effect.
Acceptable use
- Your use must follow the acceptable use policy.
Data protection
- For request content you send, we act as your processor under the data processing agreement.
- For account and billing data, see the privacy policy.
Model versions and changes to the API
- Within API version 1, changes only add things: new optional fields, new response fields and new error codes.
- A superseded exact model version stays available for at least 90 days after its successor becomes the default, and account owners are emailed 30 and 7 days before it retires.

- When we may suspend an account or key, and how you can close your account.
